Death Of The Insured
[contents cover only]

Section IID

This cover is automatically given, under Section IID, if you buy the householders insurance for the contents of your home. The cover given under this section is similar to Personal Accident insurance except that here, it is limited to accidental death as a result of injuries caused by thieves or fire at your home.

The death benefit provided is limited to RM10,000 or 50% of the sum insured on contents, whichever is less. For example, if the sum insured on contents is RM10,000, then you would be eligible for a cover of RM5,000. Whereas, if the sum insured is RM60,000, the cover provided is RM10,000. The death however must occur within 3 months of injury being sustained.

Note that this cover is not available in the houseowners policy which covers the building only.
