Duty Of Disclosure

Section 150 [Insurance Act 1996]

Section 150 of the Insurance Act 1996 requires that you (as the proposer) disclose facts about the risk being proposed which you know to be relevant to the decision of the insurer : Otherwise, the Policy issued to you may not be valid.

This legal duty is imposed upon both parties to an insurance contract, that is, you as well as the insurer. Not only should you tell the truth to your insurer, your insurer, too, should make sure you are informed of the terms and conditions of the insurance.
