Problem doing full settlement for credit card debt (modified 0 times) bbtee My bro-in-law had credit cards with public bank(credit limit 5k), cimb bank(cl 5k) , maybank(i dunno) and ambank(cl 4k) 10 years ago, He din pay the bill and it become bad debt. Recently he decided to pay off his debt and hv done for both cimb bank and public bank as they can offer him to settle it for rm7k each. But he is having prob with ambank, whereby the personincharge of his file claim that his accumulated debt amount is rm120k ++ after so many years and asking for 19k for full settlement. of coz we refuse and tried to negotiate with him again. then he said 16k ..and we tried to negotiate again, then they go back to 19k again. wat i dun understand is y other bank like public bank and cimb bank can gip us for 7k to close the file bt ambank cannot? and their attitude were really bad and decision making oso not consistence.
