Credit card late payment charges
Credit card late payment charges

New MessageCredit card late payment charges (modified 0 times) Superfish
3 years ago (year 2005), when i went into the Sushi King restoran, a salesperson promoted me and my friend
a discount card from Sushi King, alliance with Diners Club. After I subscribed it in Oct 05, I only
used this card in Nov and Dec 05 and have not used it since then, Recently, i received a statement from
Dinner club that I owed Diners club RM307.96. After checking with Diners club, they said this is the
payment for Sushi King Privilege fee (RM15 Year2007),diners club renewal fee (year RM35 - year 2007) and
Monthly service charges (RM15) and Monthly Late PaymentCharges (RM25) from Sept 07 to March 08.

I really feel it is very unfair that even i have not used ths this card for 3 years, End up, i still need
to pay the bank for the amount of RM307.96. Could iknow what the regulation and rules that govern the the
credit card payment? Do i really need to pay thisoustanding bill? Is there anyway or place can i
complaint, or can anyone help me please? Where is the nearest tribunal court in Selangor?

If i terminate the card, do i still need to payment this amount to the bank?

Thanks
Superfish

It's implied term that Bankers have the right to charge fees.

So in this sense, it is considered your mistake of did not pay attention to the fees and charge when you sign agreement to apply for the credit card.

The charge because they provide you the 'credit facilities', when you need the money, you can sign up to the amount limit you have, so this facility comes with a price, not considering whether you use or not... what's matter is you HAVE it, in the case when you NEED it.

Well, your credit rating is come down as we speak (imagine you're oweing bank money for how many years?) your record will hinder you from getting loans for car/home next time, or you have to pay much higher interest rate than 'clean borrower', because you already have the record of not paying back money, no matter what's the amount. So, if you have to pay higher interest, in the long run you're losing thousands instead of hundreds. So really, it's up to you whether you want to pay back or not...
