| Abt travelling o/seas (modified 0 times) | LH59 | |
Met my OA today to submit my 1/2yrly report. Had an 'off the record' chat with her. Asked her the best possible way to apply to JIM to travel o/seas for travel sake.
Apparently, the more countries you visit, the more bond you hv to put in! Even if it's just transit!!! Say...you want to fly fr S'pore to China instead of fr KL. Tt's 2 countries you are 'visiting' and maybe you just need to pay 2k + 1k but will end up paying 4k + 2k....something like that!!
And the best possible excuse? Show a wedding card to prove tt you're there to attend a wedding!
Alamak!! I forgot to ask what if tt bankrupt's job is a buyer and needs to travel ard?

| Hi LH59
Our case a bit different from what yr OA told you. My hubby got a job offer in Shanghai. So a direct flight fr KLIA to Pudong, Shanghai. Guess how much we paid? RM3K... And now everytime we reapply we still have to pay that extra RM3k.

hi Jane1963,
sometimes.... i think, we're all at the mercy of our OAs. JIM has no hard & fast rule. OAs suka2 quote the amt.
so yr hubby lucky.....direct klia - shanghai. i was thinking of those staying in jb, wldn't it be nearer for them to exit changi than to travel all the way to klia? so they gotta pay to enter another country even if it's on transit.
The burning question is......how abt those travelling sales people who gotta travel...say....ard SEA?

Oh yes...we are at the mercy of the OA. The 1st OA was excellent. Friday meet her, Monday pass documents, Tues got approval letter.
My personal opinion for those working & need to travel around SEA the appointment letter MUST have the term that he/she is need to travel as and when required by the job. Normally JIM approved 6 - 12 mths. As long he/she travels for work during these period, then it should be not much problem.
Worst case scenario, if JIM found out then show them the appointment letter that term. Now travel to work, not to sightseeing...NO WORK, NO MONEY TO PAY monthly installment. I believe OA also normal human beings.
Wandering anyone in this forum has been thru this experience. Please share!!
