Outstanding Tuition Fees
Debt collection of Outstanding Tuition Fees

Outstanding Tuition FeesOutstanding Tuition Fees (modified 0 times) Mr August
Hi,

After 7 years of graduation, I received a call today apparently from a debt collection agent of my private university that I am owing RM6000+ of Tuition Fees. I am surprised to find out about this as I was a sponsored student and all my tuition fees were paid directly from my sponsor to the university. If I were owing the tuition fees, I wouldn't be allowed to sit for examination or I would had been barred from graduation or receiving my transcript/scroll.

May I know what is the status of limitations of any outstanding tuition fees under applicable laws in Malaysia? Am I obligated to make such payments? The only possible reason that i can think of could be the university billed my sponsor very late after my graduation. Or the university made some mistake forgetting to bill my sponsor and now they are chasing after me for it. So far, I've not received any letter from the university because I guess they can't find me since I've moved many times.

Appreciate anyone to provide any advice over this.

Thanks

Regards

Mr August

You can ignore the Debt Collection Agent! It could be a SCAM!! BE CAREFUL!!!

Firstly, you should check the University, then, inform your Sponsor to Check about this matter.
