Settlement of Bankruptcy Amount
vide Public Mutual invested funds thru EPF Account 1

New MessageSettlement of Bankruptcy Amount (modified 0 times) rick
I have invested in Public Mutual unit trust funds through the transfer of the eligible amount vide my EPF Acct 1 over these years.

My bankruptcy officer is of the opinion that I can utilize this fund to settle my bankruptcy sum as Sec51 of the EPF Act do not apply. I'm willing to do this to clear my name.

The Public Mutual agent says they are still govern by the EPF Act.

Please advise.

The funds in Unit Trust can only be placed back into your EPF account after withdrawal.
There is no way to withdraw it until you reach 50/55.

You would be stupid to use your EPF money to pay creditors.
