I am willing to pay, just as long as it's not like huge amt of money. I just want to make sure that after i present to JIM and having the interview, they will give me the authorize letter.

they will not give you a letter immediately. u need offer letter from oversea employer and sometimes employer bond. U go overseas and dont come back again for next 30 years? How is JIM going to account for their mistakes and answerable to the judgement creditors? If u do have the money to pay the "overseas fees" JIM will/can make u pay the creditors first. If you are already working overseas and was made bankrupt in Msia, the situation is different and JIM will make considerations and impose conditions so that you can continue to cari makan and make monthly payments to JIM as well. There is no auto "open letter" or even auto bankruptcy discharge. Dun be naive and listen to rumours. Btw, if i had such a letter, I wont be reading on this forum and i will not be back. I would rather be a illegal immigrant overseas and seek asylum like that stupid lunatic MR> ALvine Tang who choose to leave behind aging parents. Shd hv throw such ppl into sg klang the moment he/she was born.. Sia sway tten ngan..

To get the approval letter, u need to fill up certain forms. Need appointment/letter of offer from overseas employer. Also guarantor who will be responsible for monthly repayment. Also certain amount of monies to be credited into your account. Amount is decided by JIM. This process will take about 2 weeks so get it done soonest possible.

However, this approval letter has a time frame means u have to come back before the expiry date. And reapply all over again even u r working with the same employer. We only given 6 months for the 1st and 2nd time application. After that is 1 year each time.

@Jane1963, did the JIM rejected you when u tried to apply for the letter?Or did they cari pasal with you?I mean did they ask for something nonsence or anything hard to fulfill?

I am actually currently working in overseas already, now planning to go back to settle some family problem, but I'm really afraid that they will not approve me to go out from Msia again.

U may be able to get amnesty from JIM for being bankrupted while overseas and pay your dues now.. What about the other JIM.(Immigration)?? Hve u overstayed yr welcome in other countries? What about the Tax dept, hv u declared your income tax for the past few years while wotking overseas? U can be barred from travelling for other reasons not related to bkcy...

I have read a story of a laduk who was bankrupted by the court. That very night, he flew off overseas and defied the rules of a bankrupt before the immigration has updated his status. Now there is a warrant of arrest waiting for him at any immigration points. There will be no negotiations now even if he surrenders to JIM.....
