sometime i believe our current system do have an loophole. Bank should stop interest once card been bar! its seem that bank preffer to make money more from the interest and let the public pay for what they shouldnt!!!!! Even worst bank sub-contract with unknown collector and harrassed public in anyway just to collect and gain commision! CAN ANY SOMEONE WITH LAW BACKGROUND give their review for god sake!

Jane, my advice are:
1. take details as much as posssible from the so called bank collector. Get black and white if possible...which i doubt they will!
2. seek legal advice
3. call your bank and propose whatever amount you can pay. If reluctant, get black and white that they cant.

Hi Jane,

Debt collectors/banks themselves have no right to harass/threathen you.
If they do, file a report to the police or the Bank Negara without fear.
Your boss has the right to stop them from coming to your office as it is
a private premises.

They have no right to deduct from your salary. Regarding repossession
of your house under your name, the bank can do so if they get a court order.
To protect your house, just transfer it or sell it off before any court
judgement. I think your debt of RM5000 is too little for them to take you
to court simply because it is not worth for them to incur the legal costs.

Another way is to go to AKPK to seek help on how to pay back to the bank.
Since your debt is small, you can arrange to pay back RM50 per month to the
bank by converting your debt to term loan. AKPK can advise you.

Actually I have got the same problem. I borrowed RM500,000 for my new shop from a bank, then I effort to pay them back,so they had been sold out my shop, there is enough and more than that totle I borrowed before, but the bank manager said I still owe them more than RM100,000.They told me that fees are include legal fees and interest.I haven't extral money to pay them back,so I had a meeting with the manager,I asked if I could pay RM1000 each month until settle the whole money, but the manager disagee and he want me to settle the whole immedially and he said he had my house's title deed of land,if I effort to pay them back, they would sale out my house to cover my owe,but the house is RM170,000 they said they would sale out for RM100,000 only. I am angry but aren't they have right to take over my house? The house has been settled for one year, the bank is just a holder,is not the owner.
