Hi, I'm currently a Senior Executive (exempt staff) being employed at one of MNC Semi-Conductor in Northern Region and my base salary is RM5K. I'm relating a lengthy details so that you can have a better view of my scenario.

Scenario:
My company has two sites, one in Kedah campus and one in Penang campus and I'm based in Kedah campus since 2006. FYI both of the campuses has two different business registration number. The nature of my job is that I'll be frequently travelling to Penang campus from Kulim campus and as stipulated in the HR guideline are entitle for mileage claim. All the while that is the practice.

In 1st September 2011, I've been instructed by my previous Supervisor to be relocated to Penang campus from Kedah campus. The understanding is that I should be able to claim Relocation Compensation as stipulated in the HR Guideline since I'm moving to a new site and this is a one-way transfer. However in order to claim the compensation, my new location (Penang campus) must be reflected in the HR system and it must be done within three months from the date of transfer which beyond the date will resulted for my benefit to be forfeited.

I've submitted my claim initially before the three month window and found out that my previous supervisor did not initiate the change process at all. After my claim submission then only my previous Supervisor do the changes however since its already beyond the three month window, he put a new effective date of my transfer to 1st November, 2011 instead. FYI on 1st November 2011, I've been assigned to a new supervisor which in turn reports to my previous supervisor (demoted?).

Additional note:
1. Penang campus employee can claim Penang toll bridge compensation and I did the claim as I belive that I'll be compensated accordingly as communicated by HR and my previous Superviosr
2. Even though my previous supervisor did the changes however the process still not complete due to maximum cap of three months for claiming the Relocation Compensation has expires
3. New effective date in the system shows that 1st November 2011
2. Till now my work location still shows that I'm under Kulim campus headcount thus not eligible for the Relocation compensation.

Question:
1. Where is my work location? Kulim or Penang?
2. Where can I find the definition of 'Work Location'?
