| Hi there,
I am a English guy and have been with a Malaysian girl for the past 3 years, (I live in UK, she in Malaysia, so I keep flying out to see her). We are looking to get registered/married in Malaysia later this year with the intention of me moving out to Malaysia. I was wondering, if the process for getting registered was the same as "two foreigners" marrying in Malaysia or are there any other requirements that I would need to fulfill in order for this marriage to take place. (I understand that the road for a residency permit is a complex and lengthy process)
Many thanks | |

| I am being honest here when I say that the road to residency (PR I assume?) is not complex and lengthy, it is quite simply impossible. So forget about that, you need a spousal visa. The marriage process is actually the same as locals except I believe you have to obtain a confirmation that you're single from your country. The rest is the same although my advise is to register at the main JPN offices rather than the small ones. | |
