| Hi,
My parents sold a piece of land in Bentong in 2008, the buyer's lawyer paid deposit and cheated the remaining amount. We made mistake by not recruiting our own lawyer. Since the buyer was cash payer, he paid all amount to the lawyer. The lawyer promised to pay the remaining amount in 2 weeks time and we sign document to change land title. Till today we never receive the remaining money. Police report has been made and we reported the case to Bar Council. So far no action is taken. Once a while we receive letter from Bar Council saying meeting has been arranged, committee member been recruited but no sign of getting back the money. We went to see another lawyer to sue the Bentong lawyer but he never take the case, saying if the lawyer declare bankruptcy we don’t get any money. Also went to see another lawyer for second opinion, he is asking 40% which is too much to pay now. Is there any other way to get the money? Please help. Thanks. | |
