motorcycle theft insurance rejected

i bought a new motorcycle in the middle of 2009 and paid cash for the whole cost(it was insured 1st party), about 5 months later it was stolen when it was parked in the basement of the building i worked, made a police report, and also submitted a claim to the insurance company,the insurance company later asked for my motorcycle licence, and i realised that my licence was not renewed when the vehicle was stolen, the insurance company rejected my claim saying that my licence expired when the incident happen. please advice, thanks regards

It is a technicality but your expired license should not have been an issue unless it was stated clearly in their contract. What did you do to get your claim???
