Life Insurance under my name can it be transfer to Another Person
Life Insurance can it be transfer to Another Person

New MessageLife Insurance under my name can it be transfer to Another Person (modified 0 times) Mayandi
Hi All,

This information i found in www.insuranceinfo.com.my :-

" Assignment – You may transfer your life insurance policy to another person or organisation. A written notice must be given to your life insurance company."

What is that mean in details or in lawyer term ? Can i transfer my life insurance under my name to my father name ? Or my father life insurance to my name ? with a written notice to the Insurance Company.

The question here is in Malaysia is this possible ?

Thanks
Mayandi

You may get your answer from your insurance company. It is more direct and authoritic.

You may have confusion over the change of beneficiary and the insured. In your insurance policy, you are the insured and the benefits contracted will go to your nominated beneficiary. It is more likely that the insurance would accept a change in beneficiary, rather than a change in insured entity. Common sense tells me that the risk of a person's life is different from another person. From example, it is generally believed that a fisherman is having a higher risk than, say an office clerk.

Hi Mayandi,
My first time on this forum. Assignment in this case means "any one or organization having an insurable interest", eg a bank giving you a morgage loan may require you to have some form of insurance (MRTA) for the duration of the loan. Assignemnt may also mean beneficiary (eg mother, father, wife, husband, sons, daughter...not necessarily in that order)
