my car had been knock down a year ago by one man but he admitted his fault by making a police report. then, my car had successfully repaired which cost an approximately RM3500. but, a few days ago this month, i've received a summons from the workshop which repaired my car claiming for the money. it is because the insurance company did not want to pay the insurance because that man is not an insured party of that car, meaning that he is a third party. what should i do? i dont want to pay the sum as it was not my fault beside the man had admitted his fault. i still have the police report with me..pls advice me..

Since that you're sure about the other party are at fault, go to the police station to extract an accident report(Keputusan) from the seageant in charge of your case. Report to your own insurer your plight, making a so call Knock for knock agreement claiming via your own insurer, ask them to appoint adjuster to assess your damage and repaired cost.

Make a search at the Road Transport Department for the other party's insurer by bringing them your police report and there are standard form for this kind of purpose.

It may took some time but it is worthwhile for the effort as RM3,500 is not a small sum to everyone.

Good Luck.
