Summoned to court ofver missing income tax return

New MessageSummoned to court ofver missing income tax return (modified 0 times) gkltsp
hi all

recently i received a letter summoning me to court. the reason is because they did not receive my income tax return from for year 2000 and year 2001. I have always sent and i have used their postage envelops. I have called up income tax and its their word against mine. its too long already (6 yrs) and i have lost the documents, but i still have letters from LDHN Shah Alam about my Credit balance etc for 2003 onwards till now.

they said i need to pay a RM 500 fine an re submit., i think this is not fair, but also i do not like the idea of going to court (time constrain), anyone can advise me as to what i should do?

i am just a normal entree level employee, not a big businessman with huge sums in taxes ...

thanks in advance

hi,

if it is a court case, you must attend or hire a lawyer to attend if not you are in big court will issue a warrant to catch you.

Do you have a copy of 2000 and 2001 form BE? If you have it you can resummit it to LDHN. It is your duties to keep it for at least 6 years and not the LDHN to keep for you.
