Hi,

My company did my appraisal for last year and gave me an increment which will take effect from this month, April 2012. Few days after the appraisal, i tendered my resignation and now my company has issued me a letter saying that since i have tendered my resignation, they will retract my increment.

Is that possible for the employer to retract back the increment eventhough the apparisal done was for year 2011??

please advise.

Thanks

Yes, the employer can retract because increment and bonus are given at the discretion of the employer, meaning it is the employer's right to decide the amount of increment.
