Hi all,

I hope somebody can advise if I stand a chance pursuing this case. Will try to keep this as short as possible. For your info, this property is in Sabah.

- More than 30 years ago an uncle asked to "temporarily" stay on mom's property. Mom agreed so uncle and his family moved in to stay with granny in her home on the same property. My mom transferred the property to me a few years back, I am now legal owner. Uncle hit my mom before she did the transfer because he wanted her to split the title and she refused.
- Uncle never paid any rent.
- Since then, granny's one bedroom house became a "long-house". Uncle has been extending the home without permission. A few of his grown kids, now married with children of their own continue to stay with him.
- Uncle and family has been inconsiderate throughout the years. Does not keep the compound clean, unsanitary.
- My mom's dogs dies mysteriously throughout the year with symptoms of vomiting and pooping blood. Mom claims due to poisoning. Her other livestock like chickens (caged) dies overnight whilst uncle's livestock roaming around not affected.
- Uncle has started running classes (mengaji) without getting my consent. I requested him to stop as it is not appropriate for him to continue doing so on my property and continue at a nearby community centre to avoid future complications.
- Now I plan to sell the property. I have gotten offers and told uncle if he is keen to buy over to give me a better offer. He says no and told me to just sell it off.
- Advised him to start looking around for other place to stay due to the fact that if the sale comes through, the buyer will want the land vacant.
- He told me to serve him a notice and he in turn will take this matter up to Ketua Anak Negeri.

How should I handle this? I need him and his family off my property so it will not be a problem when I sell it off. These people has had more than enough time to look for other accommodation through these years but never bothered. Now they want a piece of it or $$ for compensation I suppose. It is ridiculous as they have been leeching on this property for the longest time.
