I am a chambering student and when i started chambering i was lucky that there was a friend who could explain to me the procedures and what i should do. But there are many out there who may not have willing and helpful friends, and sometimes I guess we all do realise that some staff at the high court may not be as willing to explain though they may not be rude. I noticed that there is not one seperate column for chambring students to post any question about the procedures or any question at all. Some may not know where to post such a message such as I for this message so I would hope that someone in thsi discussion group would be so kind as to start a forum just for helping such pupils and have some willing participants such as I. I may have been privileged to have such a friend who was willing to help but I made mistakes that fortunately wasn't great, but I have just started chambering. I have another friend who was so confused that she made many mistakes and so her short call was delayed. And many did not realised that priority should be given to filling their papers and not just work for the Master so to speak. And I hope this forum may also have contributors in the sense of the fee to be paid, what to do if this or that happened. I know as future lawyers we must be independant and so we must learn to do many things our own instead of relying on others, since if we can't do this papers correctly then what about futrue situations of court trials? But I feel someone has to guid another to point them to the right direction. And I also hope that such a forum will also have questions and answers to matters that most senior lawyers will know but not us such as where to file cretain papers? who to call? What to say or do when doing mention? if a file is lost what should be done? and other matters.

And I am starting a website addressing the above, especially with regards to the peition and the procedures because frankly I know some of us make trivial mistakes that cost us dearly, I really do not like the idea of being laughed at like "Is this the quality of future lawyers? can't even file correctly.." or being scolded by seniors for mistakes that we didn't even know there was one.

Noted.

We've temporarily added a separate board for Students.

We are working on a new version of this discussion forum which will include a separate board for students and a new outlook.
