change or discharge the lawyer

hai,i want ask some legal advice:-`

my friend appoint a lawyer but that lawyer take the payment but doesn't want to help the client but that lawyer actually doing the work and support in favor of opposite party....my friend (the client) actually want know whether she can make police report that she not trust the lawyer anymore and she want to appoint another lawyer for the respective case and then whether she can submit the report to the court to get some time line to appoint another lawyer and post pone the case....if they give time line how many days will be given by court to get new lawyer?...how if she cannot managed to get to appoint the lawyer and the time line came to death-line?what will be the court action?...thereafter whether she can argue for her own case like meet the judge and explain her problem regarding the case or can she itself go to court and withdraw the case without lawyer after she ask the lawyer to discharge himself from the case???is there any possibility??....

please advice me for this situation....really urgent.....i'll more great full if u help me solve this problem..thank you..have a nice day.

What is the case about?

my situation is after marriage my sister stay with her husband , mother in law and father in law one family..she used to complaint to us that they never give her proper food,care, money,other necessary and etc.she nearly complaint about this about 8 months..then she get pregnant...even she get pregnant, they also i never give a proper care and especially food.then she got fight with them and come to stay in my (her) mother house after delivery...during she staying here she always have big argument with her husband family and she got make few police report about her problem like her husband trying to kill her and etc.the baby born under weight and look too small.my sister stay with us for 1 year 2 months and my sister husband never gave any single expenses for the growing up the child. my mother one did all the expenses for the baby and my sister and my mother got spend all her saving on the basic my sister tell my mother that the baby would be with my mom forever.when the baby near 1 1/2 year old suddenly she run away with her husband and back to her mother in law house and same date she make police complaint that my mother abuse her,threatened her badly and she want the baby back, gave false statement that my mother steel all her jewelry and she also complaint that my mother one who ask her to get out from house without giving the child. at the same day she miss, we also got make a police complaint.

my mother love so much the baby until cannot leave the baby even one second. my mother ask my sister that let the here at least for 2 months then you take back your child but she never consent.she bring people to fight with us.

finally my mother engage a lawyer.early that lawyer advice us that the child always belongs to parents and grandparents never can get child custody even though for 2 months.we said never mind we willing to give back the baby but we want compensation for what my sister done.Compensation for growing up the child (ll the expenses for growing up the child until the child reached one and half year old) include with my mother suffered mentally leaving up the child and for what my sister did.that lawyer said u cannot get the compensation because you don't have any bill.but the lawyer still appeal to court for child custody until 2 years and the the registrar gave one mention date.That lawyer never call us to attend the court but he ask the parents to attend the court and they having discussion there.after a day that lawyer call us and tell us that next month u have to give back the child.even he never counsel us before make decision.

we really get surprise with their decision and we feel unfair. Then,we counsel another lawyer advice about claiming the compensation that lawyer said we can claim

we told this matter to our appointed lawyer but he still staying cannot claim. But he tell us that my sister can sue my mom mother for keeping the baby during the appeal period and mentally suffered by staying away from the baby.

I'M SO CONFUSED WITH BOTH LAWYER...its is possible for them to sue my mother..we can sue them?????....please solve my problem..its really urgent....
