two days ago when I went out for dinner I was told by the guard that i would not be allowed in and out of the condo that i reside in without an access card that work. I have lived there for almost a year and am certainly sure that most of the guards there know I am a resident of that condo. So yesterday I went down to the management office at 5pm but unfortunately the person in charge has just left the building.

So now this happened sometime around 6 this morning. I wanted to go out for breakfast and the guard would not let me out saying that they have been told by management to not allow any one from unit XXXX in or out of the building without an access card that work. He was very persistent and only after repeatedly telling him how ridiculous this is to be held prisoner in my own condo building that I am paying rent for, then he let me leave to get breakfast.

Now another incident that happened just an hour before, my flatmate came back and wasn't allowed in. He called me and told me that the guard wouldn't allow him to come in despite bribing him RM10 which he took. This is not the first time my flatmate has bribe the guards to let him in the building. THere is a automated glass door that separates the lobby from the lifts where I at which I am not able to open because my access card would not work. So i am on one side and the guard and my friend on the other side. I repeated told the guard to please open the glass door but he would not do so. Only after a couple of minutes of me yelling at him only did he went and get his manager to come talk to me. The manager came and ask the guard to open the glass door. I was trapped there for approx 10 minutes. I then asked the guard whether or not did he take a bribe from my flatmate which he confessed to. I have this on camera.

What I would like to know is that am I able to press any charges of false imprisonment? Also I am moving out of the condo and would like to get management to cover all costs of moving out as I obviously do not feel safe living in a condo where the guards takes bribes and management is willing to hold me under prisoner.

I am meeting up with management this monday to get my access card working again and to express my feelings regarding this matter.

Any help would be much appreciated.

How are you going to get them to pay you for the moving costs?
Talk is easy.
