Also known as the Kuching North City Hall in English term. Local authority administering the Northern Kuching city. Kuching was awarded city status on August 1, 1988 becoming the second Malaysian city after Kuala Lumpur. Kuching is divided into two administrative areas. The northern part of the city is under Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU) and the southern under the Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS). Also known as the Lembaga Kemajuan Bintulu in Malay term. Established on July 8, 1978 to serve as the government agency to take charge of physical planning and development in Bintulu. BDA was formed following the discovery of huge reserves of natural gas and oil off-shore of Bintuly. The development of this natural resource in Bintulu warranted a central body that not only cordinates the development projects but also implements projects on its own.

Also known as the Perbadanan Urusan Kejuruteraan dan Limbungan Brooke in Malay. A government statutory body, 100 percent owned by the Sarawak State Government. Established in 1912 and reputed as the oldest shipyard in Malaysia. BDEWC is an integrated engineering corporation with its niche businesses in ship repair, shipbuilding and fabrication of oil and gas offshore modules. Its facilities at the main yeard in Sejingkat are fully equipped to handle high-end engineering works such as offshore modules and state-of-the-art boats or vessels. BDEWC's products and services include offshore modules and substructures; high speed, state of the art boats; steel concrete bridges; skid packages; ship repair works; and oil and gas land base - onshore plant.
