Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak
Also known as the Sarawak Public Works Department in English. Established in 1882. JKR Sarawak is a state department directly responsible to the Sarawak Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Communications. The Department is the technical arm and primary agency for project implementation and maintenance. The main functions of JKR Sarawak are to investigate, design, construct and maintain public buildings, accomodation quarters and civil engineering works such as roads, bridges, airfields, wharves and water supplies; to provide, operate and maintain mechanical and electrical plant and equipment necessary for the above functions; to operate a technical store organisation to serve the Department's needs and the requirements of other departments and agencies; to perform duties normally carried out by the Municipal Engineer and/pr Architect in those towns, which have yet to attain municipal status; and to develop and apply environmentally sensitive design/technology.

Jabatan Muzium Sarawak
Also known as the Sarawak Museum Department in English. Established as a full-fledged department under the Sarawak Ministry of Urban Development and Tourism to manage museums in Sarawak. The responsibilities of the Department are enshrined in the Sarawak Cultural Heritage Ordinance 1993. Museums under the management of the Department are Sarawak Museum Old Building (built in 1891 and extended to its present form in 1911), Sarawak Museum Dewan Tunku Abdul Razak, Islamic Museum, Chinese History Museum, Niah Archaeology Museum, Limbang Regional Museum, Baram Regional Museum, Textile Museum and Petroleum Museum.
