Also known as the Ministry of Urban Development and Tourism (MUDT) Sarawak in English. Formerly known as the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. On February 1, 1995, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism was split to form the new ministry called Ministry of Tourism. On July 1, 2004, the Ministry of Tourism was renamed the Ministry of Urban Development and Tourism (MUDT). The main objectives of MUDT are to encourage and create sustainable tourism through partnership, best practice in conservation, sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage, and global tourism networks; and to enhance the urban environment and quality of life through development and improvement of urban infrastructures, facilities and services. Commonly known as the Ministry Of Modernisation Of Agriculture (MoMA) Sarawak in English. Prior to Independence of Sarawak in 1963, matters relating to agriculture were administered by the Department of Agriculture under the purview of the Natural Resource Board. With Independence, the administration of the Department was assigned to the portfolio of the Ministry of Natural Resources. With the change of development scenario in the State, the title, style and activities of the original Ministry were changed considerably leading to the current portfolio, Ministry Of Modernisation Of Agriculture. The main objective of MoMA is to promote the development of competitive, modern and sustainable agriculture and food industries for the betterment of producers, processors, marketers, consumers and economy.
