Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak
Also known as the Sarawak Native Customs Council in English. Established on October 1, 1974 and placed under the purview of the Chief Minister's Department. The functions of the Majlis are contained in the Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak Ordinance, Number 5 of 1977. The general functions of the Majlis are to act as a centre for the collection, collation, storage and dissemination of material on cultures and traditions of the Dayak; to initiate preliminary studies and research into the various customary laws or adat of the Dayak and make recommendations to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (the Governor) as the needs arise to standardise & codify the customary laws or adat of the Dayak; and to conduct study & research on such matters as the Majlis may think fit. The Majlis official website features archival materials & publications; rituals terms used in Adat Iban, Adat Bidayuh & Adat Kayan-Kenyah; oral tradition collections and traditional music collection (Iban, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu and Melanau).

Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS)
Also known as the South Kuching Municipal Council in English. Established under the Local Authorities Ordinance, 1996. Services provided by MBKS are MBKS Reference Library, Permits & Licenses (banners/buntings/billboards, building alterations, entertainment licence, licensing, occupation permit, permits, pet ownership), enforcement (building control & enforcement, food quality control & hygiene, law & order, littering/illegal trading), counter services, city services (planting guidelines, city cleaning, public toilets, recycling programme, scavenging services, stray/sick dogs, tree-cutting, vector control) and general services (parking coupons, parks/recreation, assessment of new property, assessment bills, registration of architects & engineers, roads & pavements, street lighting/traffic lights, tenders & quotations, change of postal address, environment pollution, floral arrangement, tables & chairs, house numbering...).

Majlis Bandaraya Miri
Also known as the Miri City Council (MCC) in English. Established in 1933 as the Miri Municipal Board (Lembaga Perbandaran Miri). It was re-constituted and became Miri Urban District Council (Majlis Bandaran Miri) on January 1, 1956. The Council was renamed Miri District Council (Majlis Daerah Miri) in 1961 and Miri Municipal Council on November 6, 1981. Miri was recognised as a city on May 20, 2005 and the council was upgraded to Miri City Council. Majlis Bandaraya Miri which is under the purview of the Ministry of Environment and Public Health (KASKA) Sarawak, is the main organisation managing the development of the Miri city. The main function of Miri City Council is providing public services and managing events and affairs of Miri city. The services provided by Miri City Council are rubbish collecting, providing street lighting, maintenance of roads & drains, managing the disposal and conservancy system, collecting of assessment rates, bills under the authority of Miri City Coucil.
