WWW SITE LISTINGS » Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) Petaling Jaya was managed by Kuala Lumpur District Officer and Petaling Jaya Municipal Board until the end of 1954. The power to administer Petaling Jaya was then given to Petalaing Jaya Town Authority. On January 1, 1964, Petaling Jaya Municipal Board (Lembaga Bandaran Petaling Jaya) was established to administer Petaling Jaya. The Municipal Board was upgraded to Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya-MPPJ (PJ Municpal Council) on January 1, 1977. On June 20, 2006, Petaling Jaya was granted city status. Thus MPPJ was upgraded and known as the Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ). SS area (numbered section at Sg. Established on December 7, 1978 as Majlis Perbandaran Shah Alam-MPSA (Shah Alam Municipal Council) in collaboration with the proclaimation of Shah Alam as the state capital of Selangor Darul Ehsan.
