House Owner Insurance

Cover The Building

If you wish to insure the building but not the contents of your home, you can buy the Houseowners Insurance only. This insurance can be bought by the owner who either :
  1. Occupies his own house or
  2. Rents his house to someone else
The houseowners policy is specially designed for owners of Private Dwellings, to cover their building against loss or damage caused by certain specified Insured Perils plus some other contingencies as provided in the Scope of Cover.

The term building, would also include the garage, outbuildings, walls, gates and fences around your home plus the permanent fixtures and fittings in your home. The following are examples of the type of buildings that can be insured :
  1. Bungalows
  2. Terraced houses
  3. Semi-detached
  4. Flats
  5. Apartments or
  6. Condominiums
Since this insurance is specially designed for the home, cover is not valid if your home is used to manufacture or to store merchandise. Insurance for the Contents of your home, if required, can be covered under the Householders insurance.
