MySQL Workbench is an integrated graphical tool for database administrators and developers to work with MySQL servers and databases.
MySQL Query Browser is a graphical tool for creating, executing, and optimizing SQL queries for your MySQL Database Server.
MySQL Administrator is a powerful visual administration console to administer your MySQL servers.
In 2009, MySQL Query Browser, MySQL Migration Toolkit and MySQL Administrator have been announced as End-of-life (EOL) products and have been consolidated into a single product called MySQL Workbench.
MySQL Workbench is an application for:
- Database design and modeling
Create database schema models graphically, reverse and forward engineer between a schema and a live database. Edit tables, columns, indexes, partitioning, inserts, privileges, views, triggers and routines using Table Editor.
- SQL development (replacing MySQL Query Browser)
Create and manage connections to database servers. Execute SQL queries on database connections using built-in SQL editor.
- Database migration
Migrate from Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Sybase ASE, SQLite, PostreSQL, SQL Anywhere, earlier versions of MySQL and other RDBMS tables, objects and data to MySQL.
- Database administration (replacing MySQL Administrator)
Administer MySQL server by managing users, performing backup and recovery, viewing database health, inspecting audit data and monitoring MySQL server performance.
