HOW ARE LEGAL FEES CALCULATED ?

The legal costs is calculated based on the amount of work on your behalf, the time taken and the difficulty of the work involved. In certain cases, the legal costs are fixed by law. An example is the buying and selling of houses.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY MY LAWYER ?

Your lawyer may request for a deposit before they begin work on your behalf. For any money placed with the lawyer, you should asked for a receipt.

To avoid any misunderstanding, always discuss the questions of legal costs with your lawyer.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE LEGAL COST IS UNREASONABLE ?

Generally, you will discuss the matter with you lawyer if you are unhappy with the legal costs your lawyer charged you. Should the matter cannot be resolved, you may ask your lawyer to arrange for his bill to be taxed -- To be decided by the court.
