HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE SILVER HAIR PROGRAMME ?

Application for the Silver Hair Programme must be submitted by a local sponsor directly to the headquarters of Immigration Department of Malaysia.

Your sponsor can obtain a checklist for the required document for the application from the Immigration Office.

You cannot acquire the service of any agent, middleman or consultant or legal firm.

Your sponsor must be a permanent resident or citizen of Malaysia.

Your application must be submitted with the following documents :

  • Letter of application or a covering memo
  • 2 copies of IMM. 12 (application form for visit pass)
  • Personal bond duly signed by the sponsor the stamp dutied by the stamp duty office
  • 2 passport size photographs of applicants and spouse
  • Photocopies of applicant and spouse passport or travel documents
  • Marriage certificate (if accompanied by spouse)
  • A certified copy of applicant's bank statement
  • A certified copy of medical insurance policy
  • A certified copy of sponsor's Malaysian identity card
  • Other supporting document (if any)
CAN I SEEK FOR EMPLOYMENT UNDER THE SILVER HAIR PROGRAMME ?

No.

You will be issued a social visit pass and are not allowed to participate in any form of employment in Malaysia.

However, taking part in volunteer organizations in accordance with the government rules and regulations is permitted.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY APPLICATION TO BE PROCESSED ?

Your application will be processed within a time frame of 14 working days from the date your application is received.
