WHAT IS A LANDING PASS ?

A Landing Pass is a an endorsement on the travel document for any through passenger traveling in, or any member of the crew of, any vessel or aircraft on arrival in any port or airport in Malaysia.

A Landing Pass will entitle the holder to enter West Malaysia, Sabah or Sarawak and remain therein during the stay of such vessel or aircraft.

A Landing Pass will be in a form of an endorsement on the passport or internal travel document of passenger.

I HAVE A SEAMAN'S IDENTIFICATION CARD. CAN IT BE USED AS A LANDING PASS ?

If you a member of a crew and is in possession of a seaman's identification card or of any identification card issued to you by the master of the vessel or aircraft on which you are employed or by the owners or agents of such vessel or aircraft, and such card is in the opinion of a senior immigration officer sufficiently identifies you, it shall be deemed to be a valid Landing Pass issued to you.

Where your seaman's identification card is deemed to be a Landing Pass issued to a member of a crew of any vessel or aircraft, the immigration officer may require the master, owner or agent or charterer of such vessel or aircraft to give security, whether in deposit or otherwise.

Where the immigration officer requires security by bond, the bond shall in Form 19 of the Second Schedule of Immigration Regulations 1963.
